What each source type means

Cell towers & masts

Registered communication masts and rooftop antenna sites. RF power density at a home depends on distance, height and which panels face you.

Substations & transformers

Distribution and transmission substations. Magnetic fields fall off quickly with distance, but the feeders leaving a substation often run past nearby homes.

High-voltage lines

Overhead transmission routes. Magnetic field strength depends on load and conductor height, so it changes hour to hour.

Rail & transit

Rail corridors and crossings. Signalling equipment and traction power can raise low-frequency readings near the right of way.

Radar & broadcast

Radar installations and broadcast transmitters. These are high-power, narrow-beam sources that need a measured reading, not an estimate.

Where this data comes from — and what it can't tell you

Locations come from open public map records: registered antenna structures and communication masts, power substations and transformers, overhead transmission routes, and rail and radar infrastructure. We ship a Florida-wide snapshot with the site and layer live lookups on top when you scan a point.

The map shows proximity, not exposure. A tower half a mile away can read higher indoors than one across the street depending on antenna direction, elevation and building materials — and the biggest readings we find are usually inside the home: wiring errors, smart meters, dimmers and routers. Questions people ask before they scan

How do I find out if there is a cell tower near my address?

Type the address into the scanner above. It plots registered antenna structures and communication masts within a two-mile radius from public map records and lists each one with its distance. It shows where the mast is, not how strong the signal is inside the house — antenna direction, height and wall construction change that completely.

How close are the power lines to my house?

The scanner draws high-voltage transmission routes and substations around the point you search, with distance to the nearest one. Neighborhood distribution poles are usually not mapped in public data, and they can still matter, so a measured survey is the only way to know the magnetic field level at the bedroom wall.

Does living near a tower or power line mean high EMF in the home?

Not reliably. In most Tampa Bay homes we test, the highest readings come from inside — wiring errors, a smart meter on a bedroom wall, dimmer switches, solar inverters and routers — rather than from the nearest outdoor source. The map is a starting point for questions, not an exposure estimate.
