Sleep Environment Audit: Eight Hours of Data from Where Your Head Actually Rests
You spend a third of your life in one room, and that room is where exposure math actually happens. A sleep audit measures all four EMF categories at the pillow line — with overnight data logging to catch the pump that cycles at 3 a.m. and the grid load that peaks at 6 p.m. — and grades every value against Building Biology sleeping-area guidance, the strictest published benchmark.
What we measure
Overnight magnetic and electric field logging
A three-axis logger records at the pillow all night, capturing intermittent sources — well pumps, HVAC cycles, grid load swings — that a daytime spot check misses entirely.
Body voltage at the sleeping position
Ambient room readings are not what couples to you in bed. Body-voltage testing quantifies the actual electric-field exposure at the sleeping position, before and after simple changes.
Nighttime RF floor
Mesh nodes, phones, wearables and the neighbor's equipment all contribute to the overnight RF environment. We identify which sources are yours to switch off — most are.
Immediate no-cost interventions
Bed repositioning, breaker configuration for the night, device relocation. We test the effect of each change on the spot so you leave with a measurably better bedroom the same day.
What you receive
An overnight time-series graph for each category, the sleeping-area guideline comparison, and a short list of changes ranked by measured impact — most of them free.
Common questions
Why log overnight instead of just measuring once?
Many bedroom sources are intermittent: pumps, compressors, grid load peaks. A single daytime reading can look clean while the 3 a.m. data tells a different story. Logging captures the whole exposure window.
What are the Building Biology sleeping-area limits?
The SBM-2015 'no concern' band for sleeping areas is under 0.2 mG magnetic field, under 0.1 µW/m² RF and under 1 V/m electric field. We report your overnight values against those bands.
Will I have to rewire my bedroom?
Rarely. The most effective changes are usually positional — moving the bed two feet, relocating a mesh node, or a nighttime breaker routine. Wiring corrections are reserved for confirmed errors.
