Two of the most popular home upgrades in Florida — rooftop solar and EV charging — are also two of the most common sources of high-frequency noise on household wiring. Add a variable-speed pool pump and you have the three devices behind most elevated dirty-electricity findings we log in Tampa Bay homes. The fix is rarely removing the upgrade; it is isolating which unit is noisy and documenting it for the installer.
What we measure
Circuit-level dirty electricity, device on and off
We measure 2 kHz–100 kHz transients at the outlets you actually use, with each suspect device running and then idle. The delta identifies the noisy unit precisely.
Inverter and charger magnetic fields
String inverters, microinverter trunks and EVSE wall units produce localized 60 Hz and switching-frequency magnetic fields. We map them so sleeping areas and desks stay out of the near field.
Wiring-path contribution
A noisy device on a circuit that runs under a slab bedroom matters more than the same device on a garage circuit. We trace the run, not just the endpoint.
Documentation for the installer
When a unit is out of spec, the report gives your solar or electrical contractor measured values, timestamps and conditions — which is what gets warranty action.
What you receive
A source-by-source table: each device measured on and off, its contribution at your key outlets, and the specific correction recommended — often a ferrite, a relocation, or a warranty call to the manufacturer.
Common questions
Should I not install solar because of EMF?
That is not what the data says. Most solar installations we measure are fine; a minority have a noisy inverter or a wiring issue that the installer corrects under warranty. Measure first, then decide.
Is charging my EV in the garage a problem?
The charger produces a localized field during active charging. We measure it at the nearest living space so you know the actual level rather than the internet's estimate.
Can dirty electricity be filtered?
Yes, but filters treat symptoms. Our approach finds the source device first — swapping or repairing one unit is usually cheaper and more effective than a house full of plug-in filters.
